New website is live
We’re so pleased with our new website.
Huge thanks go to Pin and Paul of Zone1Creative.
They’ve worked really hard to get it looking so nice.
Photoshoot for new website
With huge thanks to the lovely team at Vervate for the brilliant photos for the new website.
Liz was our photographer, and she made it really seamless and easy for us. None of us were used to being photographed, so it was great that she made everyone feel comfortable. That helped to get some great images.
All the Green Moppers involved did brilliantly; Syd, Olga, Jazmine, Silviya, Renata, Brenda, Georgia and Miri.
I’d also like to thank Matt at Ski Safari for kindly lending us their office as one of the locations for our photoshoot.
ISO Audit success for 2022
Well, we’ve done it again! We’ve achieved continued certification for : BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, BS EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System,
BS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety System
Henry flower pot
Look at how colourful and cheering the little Henry garden is looking.
The Green Mop office team have cheered up the outside of our office by repurposing a retired Henry, and we love it!
Cleaning services that you can rely on
It’s a big claim to say we won’t let you down, but we really won’t.
Over the last two years, during the turmoil of the pandemic and all the schedule changes, rule changes, staff sickness and everything else that’s thrown at us, we have missed a total of 3 scheduled shifts. We have around 260 shifts sheduled each week. Having three in two years that we’ve not been able to sort out at short notice is quite remarkable.
It’s still 3 too many. But our customers were very understanding as they know that we will always have tried our utmost to provide the expected services.
Our team of cover cleaners and supervisors are available to step in whenever required, working hard to ensure we don’t let customers down. We make sure we have enough capacity to enable cleaning teams to take time off for holidays or if they are unwell.
The Living Wage accreditation
We’re delighted that we’ve received our accreditation from The Living Wage Foundation.
The real Living Wage is based on the cost of living and is voluntarily paid by nearly 10,000 UK employers who believe we all need a wage that meets our everyday needs. Accredited Living Wage employers are certified by the Living Wage Foundation having proving that they pay all their staff at least The Real Living Wage.
It’s never been more important to ensure all members of the Green Mop team are paid a decent wage for their hard work.
We work very hard to manage our costs in order to remain competitive for our customers, alongside our commitment to The Living Wage for our Green Moppers.
Cleaning plan efficiencies – reduce the cost of your cleaning
We strive to maintain a good value service for all our business customers. With costs rising for all businesses, ours is also affected by increases in wages, utilities and materials. To that end, we work to implement efficiencies for our customers’ cleaning plans, where possible.
- Identify the key areas that need daily cleaning for hygiene or high profile purposes – kitchens, washrooms, touch points, reception areas etc
- Identify areas / tasks that can be cleaned less frequently, perhaps once per week in sections across the week – desks, dusting, full vacuuming
- Encourage your staff to take care of their own washing up, or take it to the kitchen to be dealt with by your cleaner. Collecting cups and plates from desks has an impact on the time available for cleaning
- Encourage a clear desk policy, allowing desks to be cleaned efficiently
- Reduce the number of bins. Especially taking away individual desk bins and replacing with centralised general waste bins near the recycling. This simple idea helps cleaner efficiency will fewer bins to empty, clean and re-line. It also reduces the number of bin liners used and improves recycling rates.
Get in touch with us if you want to have a chat about what efficiencies can work for you. You can’t cut corners with cleaning, especially when trying to minimise contamination and maintain a healthy environment. But we can make sure we get the most out of your budget.
The Green Mop office team work with our suppliers to keep the cost of materials down. We have a profile of local supply partners where the costs of quality, eco-friendly products are monitored to make sure we’re getting best value. We make sure all staff are trained and checked for efficient cleaning methods and correct product dosing and usage.
These are a few of the ways in which Green Mop works to maintain a good value service for our customers.
Green Mop office Christmas opening hours
We’re all looking forward to a bit of a break over Christmas. Our Site Management Team and Cleaning Teams will still be working where needed. Our Green Mop office will be closed from 24 December. We’ll be back on 4 January.
During the time we’re closed, we will be keeping an eye on emails and will respond to any urgent matters. We just may not be as prompt as we usually are.
Any non-urgent matters will be sorted out once we’re back!
From all of us at Green Mop, please have a safe and Happy Christmas.
WE WON! Employer of the Year at the Sussex Business Awards 2021
Wow. We were truly not expecting that.
Absolutely thrilled to have won Employer of the Year award at the prestigious Sussex Business Awards.
I am so very proud to have our business recognised in this category. To have our un-glamorous work, and our hard-working people rewarded with this accolade is wonderful.
The sponsors were Loch Associates who are HR and Employment Law specialists. A sponsor qualified to assess the nominees and finalists, I’m sure you’d agree. I’d like to thank them for taking the time to listen to how we do things, what makes us different, and why we’re so proud of the way Green Mop makes a difference by giving all our staff support, respect and reward for the hard work they do. It’s not easy work, and it’s never been more important or more in focus. They’ve kept going, kept working, and kept customers premises clean and safe.
I couldn’t be more proud of them. Well done to the whole Green Mop team, and thank you to Sussex Business Awards, and the sponsors, Loch Associates.
Our lovely General Manager, Olga Surduleac, accepted the award on behalf of Green Mop. Here’s a pic with Zoe Lyons, and the sponsor.
Finalists! Employer of the Year – Sussex Business Awards 2021
We are delighted to be Finalists for the Employer of the Year category at this year’s Sussex Business Awards.
It’s wonderful to be recognised as a business that is focussed on its employees. The excellent work that the whole team has continued to do in order to keep other businesses open and safe for their employees is magnificent.
