Green Mop’s management team are a wonderful, diverse, inspirational group of women.
The nature of our work also means most of our team are women, currently 75%.
As we specialise in office cleaning, our work is often at convenient times for those with care responsiblities, and that’s usually the women in society. We offer flexibility which suits young mums, grandmas and people with other caring priorities.

Eco-friendly office cleaning tips
There are several eco-friendly office cleaning practices that can help reduce your business’s impact on the environment.
Here are some tips for eco-friendly office cleaning:
- Use eco-friendly cleaning products
Traditional cleaning products can contain harmful chemicals that can be damaging to the environment. Switching to eco-friendly cleaning products can significantly reduce the amount of chemicals released into the environment. Look for cleaning products that are biodegradable, non-toxic and made from natural ingredients. Some cleaning products even come in concentrated forms, which reduces packaging waste and delivery costs. This can often work out more cost effective too. - Switch to microfibre cloths
Traditional cleaning cloths and paper towels generate a lot of waste, and the manufacturing process can be energy-intensive. Microfibre cloths, on the other hand, are reusable and can be washed and reused multiple times. They are also effective at capturing dust and dirt, which means that you will use fewer cleaning products overall. - Use energy-efficient cleaning equipment
Vacuum cleaners and other cleaning equipment can use a lot of energy. Switching to energy-efficient equipment can help reduce your business’s carbon footprint. Look for equipment that has an EU Eco Label or other eco-friendly certifications. - Reduce water usage
Water is a precious resource, and reducing water usage should be a priority for any eco-friendly business. Consider using low-flow toilets and taps in your office, and make sure that cleaning staff turn off taps when not in use. You can also look for cleaning products that require less water for use. - Switch to green cleaning services
If your business does not have the resources to carry out eco-friendly cleaning practices in-house, consider outsourcing your cleaning to a green cleaning service. These services use eco-friendly products and practices to reduce the environmental impact of office cleaning.
Adopting eco-friendly office cleaning practices can help your business to be more sustainable. Switching to eco-friendly products, using energy-efficient equipment, reducing water usage, and outsourcing to green cleaning services are all effective ways to make your office cleaning more environmentally friendly.
Working safely
Businesses should choose professional cleaning companies for many reasons, not least safety competence.
Here at Green Mop, we take risks and hazards seriously and provide customers with all the necessary documentation to back that up. COSHH, MSDS, RAMS, Safety Certification, training and cleaning team support. It’s all part of our process as professionals. This helps our business customers to fulfil their own audit processes.
Our SafeContractor and ISO certifications give customers confidence in our professional working methods.
Merry Christmas to all our staff and customers
We wish all our staff and customers a happy and peaceful Christmas. Many of our team will continue to clean through the festive holiday season, but our office will be closed from 4pm on Friday 23 December until Tuesday 3 January.
This year’s Christmas illustration is by Olga’s daughter, Alexandra. We think it’s just amazing! Alexandra is such a talented young artist, and still only 13. She also did a Christmas card design for her school, and was one of only four students to have their design printed.

We’re so pleased with our new website.
Huge thanks go to Pin and Paul of Zone1Creative.
They’ve worked really hard to get it looking so nice.
Photoshoot for new website
With huge thanks to the lovely team at Vervate for the brilliant photos for the new website.
Liz was our photographer, and she made it really seamless and easy for us. None of us were used to being photographed, so it was great that she made everyone feel comfortable. That helped to get some great images.
All the Green Moppers involved did brilliantly; Syd, Olga, Jazmine, Silviya, Renata, Brenda, Georgia and Miri.
I’d also like to thank Matt at Ski Safari for kindly lending us their office as one of the locations for our photoshoot.

Henry flower pot
Look at how colourful and cheering the little Henry garden is looking.
The Green Mop office team have cheered up the outside of our office by repurposing a retired Henry, and we love it!
Cleaning services that you can rely on
It’s a big claim to say we won’t let you down, but we really won’t.
Over the last two years, during the turmoil of the pandemic and all the schedule changes, rule changes, staff sickness and everything else that’s thrown at us, we have missed a total of 3 scheduled shifts. We have around 260 shifts sheduled each week. Having three in two years that we’ve not been able to sort out at short notice is quite remarkable.
It’s still 3 too many. But our customers were very understanding as they know that we will always have tried our utmost to provide the expected services.
Our team of cover cleaners and supervisors are available to step in whenever required, working hard to ensure we don’t let customers down. We make sure we have enough capacity to enable cleaning teams to take time off for holidays or if they are unwell.
